Overview: Govt. Graduate College Sahiwal is offering BS-4 Year degree programme in the subject of Political Science whereas BS-4 Year degree programme in the subject of International Relations is under its consideration. The major purpose of our above-mentioned degree programmes is to deepen knowledge base and understanding of our students towards the most powerful forces operating on people, communities and corporations, currently particular in our government and political system of Pakistan and generally around the Globe. The knowledge and understanding acquired through Degree Programmes are very valuable for the students. It is also essential in many careers today; public sector as well as business executives, for example, need to have some understanding of the likely trajectory of policy and politics in their country or region as well as at international level in order to make wise and proper decisions. Not surprisingly, the alumni of Department of Political Science and International Relations Government Graduate College Sahiwal can be found succeeding in many different professions and organizations including a number of prominent Bar members of different Bar associations of the country and business; the CEO's of several companies and a number of prominent political elite and Parliamentarians of Sahiwal Division. Some find Government jobs so fascinating that they make government service their career. History: Department of Political Science and International Relations started under the Headship of Prof. Muhammad Rafi. In 1999, master degree programme in Political Science affiliated with B.Z.U. Multan was started under the headship of Prof. Khalil Ahmad. It was a blessing for the students of the area and they showed much interest to get admission in the subject of Political Science. In the following years flux of candidates tried to get admission in the department. The BS-4 Year degree programme in the subject of Political Science was also started in 2010 to cope with the needs of changing scenario of academics and to compete international standards. The programme is running successfully and has distinct status in the Punjab province. The Alumnae of the department are serving the nation in different fields like Education, Civil Services, Judiciary, NAB, Police, print and electronic media organizations, a number of prominent Bar members of different Bar associations of the country and a number of prominent political elite and parliamentarians of Sahiwal Division, banking, real estate, traders, transportation, and others. The students of the department achieved distinctions in the university in different academic sessions.
